MEMORIAL AND
CONGRATULATION CARDS
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those, who, upon the death of a loved one, have asked that memorials be sent to Aid For Friends. This thoughtfulness brings AFF many thousands of dollars a year (about $23,000.00 last year) and helps us provide free meals and outreach services to the needy homebound frail elderly and other disabled individuals.
Memorials: If AFF is listed in the obituary as a recipient of donations, a letter is sent to the family offering our condolences, thanking them, and listing the names and addresses of those who have sent donations. Or a gift can be made in remembrance of someone and we will send a Memorial Card.
Congratulations: If you wish to make a donation in honor of a person’s birthday, anniversary, or holiday, we have attractive Congratulation cards you can use.
For Memorials or Congratulations, a thank-you is also sent to the donor, by AFF. Call (215) 464-2224 or stop in to see Kathy Cantz for Memorial or Congratulation cards.
****Idea: Many years ago, Dr. & Mrs. William Menin (AFF donors) of Jenkintown, had a 50th Anniversary Party given by their children – asking for donations to AFF in lieu of gifts. I thought it was a great idea at the time, but had forgotten about it. But just last week Fran Andre’ (volunteer AFF coordinator at St. Christopher) stopped by the office and showed us the invitation Fran and John sent for their 30th Anniversary Dance Party, with the same goal: no gifts, but contributions to AFF, their favorite charity, would be welcome. Their guests donated $943 to Aid For Friends Mission to the isolated homebound. We thank the happy couple for making their special day, a very special day for AFF shut-ins, as well!

MEMORIAL
CARDS I thank all of you who utilize our Memorial Cards. More individuals than ever have used our cards to remember their friends and loved ones. It is wonderful, indeed, that a memorial for a deceased person – can bring sustenance and comfort to a needy disabled or frail elderly shut-in client/friend. The artwork was created and donated by Don Robinson and Lillian Babik, two talented artists. If Aid For Friends is listed in the obituary as a recipient of donations, a letter is sent to the family offering our condolences, thanking them, and listing the names and addresses of those who have sent donations. Or a gift can be made in remembrance of someone and we will send a Memorial Card. |
DONORS:
Please check to see if your employer will match your monetary gift.
Many employers match volunteer service with matching gift.
