Aid for Friends can only provide the desperately needed services it does because of the ongoing generosity and dedication of our corps of volunteers cooks. Many of our volunteers have been cooking for us for over 20+ years now, an amazing testament to our mission and the joy which comes from serving others. Please consider joining us in this effort- its easy to get started!
We provide the tins for meals, the plastic bags to store them in and the labels to complete for each meal- you provide the contents and the manpower to assemble the meals. Supplies for meal preparation are available at each of our freezer locations, as well as our headquarters location. Prepared meals can be dropped off at any of these freezer locations as well.
Many parishes and churches cook in groups or as service activities for their youth organizations- we can assist you with any guidance needed if you wanted to learn more about this. Very important to us however is the flow of meals prepared by individuals in their kitchens and dropped off to freezer locations on a steady basis throughout the year. Won't you consider making one extra portion one night a week and freezing it to provide a home-cooked meal for a neighbor in need?
