Do you like to cook?  There are many ways to become a volunteer cook.

  1. You could prepare one home cooked nutritious dinner weekly - or monthly - immediately freeze the dinner in the aluminum dinner tray that Aid For Friends provides, and at your convenience, bring to one of our 250 AFF freezer sites throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area.
  2. You could gather with friends or neighbors once monthly and prepare several dinners from your favorite recipes.
  3. You could cook a pot of your favorite soup, place in Aid For Friends plastic soup containers and freeze.
  4. You could organize a group from your church, synagogue or organization to meet monthly and prepare dinner meals.   (We also have recipes available for your use.)  Bring frozen meals to the Aid For Friends Frail Elderly Outreach Center's walk-in freezers at 12271 Townsend Road, Philadelphia 19154 (five minutes from Franklin Mills or from the Armory at the Boulevard and Southampton Road)
  1. You could join a group of volunteer cooks to prepare meals in the Aid For Friends Production Kitchen at the Aid For Friends Frail Elderly Outreach Center - Phone: 215-464-2224; ask to speak to Lynn Trombetta.
